Donald Trump is Losing to Kamala Harris in Three Key Swing States

An Editorial Opinion

The newest New York Times/Siena Poll confirms that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is losing to Democrat Kamala Harris in three of the six key swing states: Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Trump's campaign appears to be stuck in 1st gear, as he continues to: (a) engage in juvenile name-calling, (b) throw nasty political spitballs, and (c) inject racial identity politics into the presidential race. None of these tactics is working in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, where Harris leads Trump 50% to 46%.

Trump's selection of J.D. Vance as his running-mate turned out to be the biggest bust since John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his Vice-Presidential nominee. Vance is a "loser" on the campaign trail.

Trump also has dual ankle-weights on his legs, as he runs the 2024 race -- abortion bans in Red states and Project 2025. Both of these toxic initiatives are hugely unpopular and were brought to life by Trump's well-known right-wing sycophants. Today, these initiatives constitute a dangerous political noose around Trump's campaign neck.

For these reasons, America seems poised to turn the page away from Donald Trump in November. The divine intervention Democrats prayed for occurred in July when President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and Kamala Harris replaced him as the Democratic nominee. The race is now hers to lose.

Somebody has to pay a heavy political price for overturning Roe v. Wade and it looks like that person will be Donald Trump. After all, Trump deliberately placed three "political whores" on the U.S. Supreme Court who were pre-committed to taking away a woman's Constitutional right to an abortion.

Trump ran a "Red states" only, "Take us back to 1920-1950" campaign. Trump cannot win a presidential race against Kamala Harris using this poorly-conceived political strategy.

If Kamala Harris wins one of the remaining three swing states, the 2024 presidential election is over. If Trump's campaign remains stuck in 1st gear, this election is over.
